LAND BOARD.
The usual weekly meeting of the Land Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitlaud (chief commissioner), J. Duncan, H. Claik, W. Dallas, aad A. M'Korrow.
HuKtL Lino.— The following applications for rural land on lease in perpetuity were approved :— James Aherns, section 10, bl> ck VII, Oatlins ; F. W. Bono, section 3. block VIII, Woodland.
Woodland —An application by James Langrauir for section 1, block X, Woodland district (village homestead allotment), on lease in perpetuity, was approved.
WAKATiFU. — An application by Edward Mousun for pastoral Run 31, Wakat'pu, was approved Morven Hills Runs.— Messrs Ualgety and Co. applied to have the licen&e of the Morven Hills runs issued in the name of I<\ J. Dalgety. — Tiie application was granted.
Otbpopo —An application by John M'Cornvck, to be allowo.i to transfer deferred payment licenss of section 85, block I, O.epopo, to Jame3 Dorreen was approved. Asiinila» implication by Thonias M'Cormick to transfer section 82, block I, Otepopo, to James Doire j n was also approved. James J'orreen applied to complete purchase of deferred payment sections 82 and 85, block I, Otepopo.— The application was granted. Waipori.— An application by Charles Robinson to be allowed to transfer {.mall grazing run sections 1. 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11, block 11, Waipori, to James Robinson was approved. Shotovbr.— The executors of the late John Gilbert applied to be allowed to tran fer miscellaneous license of section 66, block 111, Shotover, to W. F. Q. Luke and 8. J. Luke.— The trausfer was approved.
Silver Peak.— The Undersecretary of Lands wrote stating that the acceptance of surrender of pastoral license held by Robert Gibson over section 1, block 111, Silver Peak district, had been approved.— The surrender of license v*a3 accepted.
Kuriwao.— Ranger Atkinson reported upon small grazing run section 22, block IX, and section 5 block X, Kuriwao district, lately held by Alexander Chalmers.— Run to be offered as a small grazing run at a rental n( 3J par acre, with £161 19s 3d valuation for improvements POMAHA.IU.-Thß Secret .ry of the Education Board requested that 10 acres in the south-west corner of section 2, block I, Pomahnka district, be set aside as a school site —It was resolved that the Government bo recommended accordingly. It was resolved that the following sections in the Pom »haka estate be reopened for application :— Section 2, block X ; section 10. block XIII : and section 4, block XIV Swinborn.- Surveyor Calder reported upon the application received for land adjoining sections 12 and 14, block VII, Swinburo, recently held under license by the Swinburn Settlement Association —William Klltson to be allowed to acquire a least) in perpetuity, under section 115 of the act, of the southern portion, containing 83 acres ap proxmiitely, at capital value ot 15s, por acre ; James Millar to be allowed to acquire th- northern portion, containing about the same area, at a capital value of 15s per acre. Cromwell. -William Finning applied for 500 acres of unsurveyed land in blocks 111 and IV, Cromwell district, on leate ;n; n perpetuity.— To be allowed to acquire, on lease in perpetuity, tlie are* applied for, under secbiou 1 15 of the a^t, at a capital value of 7s 6d per acre. Waihemo. -The Undersecretary of Lands wi.it stating that the surrender of pastoral lite. ix over section 3, block VI [I, and section 1, block IX. Waihemo, held by John Matheson, had baea approved —The surrender of the license was accepted ; the ranger to make valuation of improvements. _
Tuapeka Wevt.-F. Stephens and Andrew Dalziell applied for a grazing right over all the unsold sections in block IV, Tuapeka West.— Referred to the ranger to report. The Waipori Hundred. -Mr T Ch*lmer. on behalf of James Wright and. Mary E. Dickson, holders of land within the Waipori Hundred, objected to a license over the land within the 'hundred being granted to juniors having no interost therein.— After the Board had heard Mr R. Cotton, and also Messrs Kerr and Knight, members of the Waipori Commonage Committee (for whom Mr Woodhouse appeared), it was decided to leave matters as they were, pending the erection of a fence which had been agreed upon by the Commonage Committee and Mr Cotton. Maniototo.— The transfer of section 3, block XII, Maniofcoto district, frcVi James Howell to Ihornas Howell was approved
