CABINET DECISIONS.

The Government have decided to admit the statue of tbe late Bishop Harper free of duty. The following inspectors bave been appointed nnder thaXiiquor Act : — Mr Huttwiok (ohemist), Wellington ; Mr Bickerton (son of Professor - Bickerton), Christchurch ; Mr Oarnie, Auckland. The Government, being requested to arrest two deserters from the French man>o'-war Scorff , find that the law only permits them to ' assist the authorities to effect an arrest; and they intend to bring the question tinder the notice of the Imperial authorities. On the recommendation of the Auditorgeneral, it'has been decided to introduce. a bill into. Parliament next; session giving the 'Audit department the power to audit tbe of domain boards.
