April 19. i Major Oarriagton ' has been sent to the Cape. It is reported that he has been appointed commander in Matabeleland. April 20. News baa been received that the Matabele threaten Buluwayo on three sides, and are trying to effect a junction with the .tribes at Matoppo Hills, Olitno is inciting the attack by foretelling the capture of the town. Dynamite mines encircle the town, and the scouts are dropping dynamite in the rebel lines. Several provision waggons have arrived safely, A force of 260 troopers with 10 officers is pushing on from Mafeking. A similar number of men is ready equipped for the journey, including a fine body from the Rand. j The Cape Government denies the reports that risings are threatened among the natives in Bechnanalaud, Basutoland, and Pondoland.
