The horse is very Bore at present, and owing to the hardness of the Bulls track has been removed to Foxton to be trained. Mr L. A. Young, of Palmerston North, has drawn the first prize in Benson's consultation on the Queensland Cup. The value of the prize is set down at £8000. Miss Prentice, of Palmers ton North, has drawn the winning horee iv one of Tattcrsall's sweeps, the value of tho prize bsing £1123. The stallion Ramarama wrenched his back by a fall at Kevin last week, and had to be shot. Acceptances are due to-morrow night for the Wellington Cup and the other events in the first day's programme of the W.R.C Summer meeting, and pending the appearance of the list to-morrow betting is very slack in town. - In fact you would require to use a microscope to find auy speculation. What do you think of Lady Zetland as a sure thing for the Wellington Cup ? Mr F. Hill, the well-known totalizator proprietor, has been compelled to retire from active work owing to illness. At a meeting of stewards of the Wairarapa Racing Club to-day protests against the stakes of the Wa'rarapa Cup and Wairarapa Racing Club Hundicap being paid over to the owners cf Legislator and King's Bowman ware gone into, and after hearing voluminous evidence, the stewards resolved thai the protests could nofc be allowed, as they had not been entered on the same day of the races. General dissatisfaction was expressed with Rule 167 a, aa being doubtful in its construction.
