Jn the last w ek's report I mentioned bavirg started a drive on stone 65ft above No. 5 level. I have since driven on 15ft. The st-ne is 6ft wide kt present, aud of good quality. Twenty -five feet l«wer down tbe winze I am continuing a Bmall jdrive to the south-east, bo as to make a connection with the stone above, and mako it more convenient to get quartz to the pass. I am also preparing to drive on stone which was cot behind the winz« chamber on No. 3. We holed through yesiordjiy with the rise to the winze sunk fiom Iso. 3. We did not start crushing unil 'Ihursday morning, the erection of Uw winding engine being yroctsded with."
Exchange. — The mine manager reports: "Improvement In tbe country; nice slate, and looks veiy promising." iTi'gregs.— During the week stopinff has been carried on as usual over No. 5 level, where tho reef is 135 ft long, and varies in width.
