Young, Gf Auckland, is in toies of orange, wh-ch make the /ies'gn som what iudefiotta. The view of Mount Cook from the Muelter G'acier, which forms the centre, is enclosed in a floral border. The fiveptnny design is by Mr Beck, of Wtllingt >n. Ib it violet colour, with a view of Mount E^mont from the land side. Mr E T. L*ke, of Melbourne, takes tho priza for the sixpeuny. It is brown in colour, of the American size, and has a woll-exf-cuted view of Mount de Ia B.ohe and the Teaman Glacier. Tue eightpeuuy stamp is designed by Mr Howard, ot Me'.bournß. The d«6igu is in the form of a figure 8, surrounded by native foliage. The upper part of the figure is surnvuutttd by an Imperial crown, and the lower part contains a Maori view. The ono shilling and two shilling stamp 3 are both by Mr Lake, of Melbourne. The design? are very similar in eh.nractsr. Both are of the American siKf, the design being vertic-tl. Tho view on the shilling oce is of Mount Cook, the colour of the stamp being purple blue. The two (shilling is deep browo, and is notic-able for the quantity of detail go*i into a 6in«ll space. Too deiign includes views of Mouut Rcuj/C-uu euc'osod in a smi-.H circle and a capit*! view of the Obira Gorge. The five shilling design is by Mr F W. Star-, of Wellington. It is green in co'our. The design is uiiiqu*), and contains a double view of Torgtuiro end the Mitre Peak. The designer ha* been very successful."
