LAND AND WATER.
The annual general meeting of the above club was held in the l'ub'ic Hall, Waihola, on Saturday rjight. Mr Jas. Sit clair (Titri) occupied the chair, and 32 members wero jiresent. After dißcufsiog the position »nd prospects of the club, which were con»idered oxcpllwifc, the meeting proceeded to elect office-bearers for the sensoD, the election resulting as follows : — Pitsidcnt, Mr A. Lfe Smith ; vice-president? — Messrs James Allen, M.H.R., C. R. (Jhaimm'i, W. Duff, W. P. Wa'sou, A Mai-shall (Milton), T. Dickfou. L. M'Lejii (Waihola ept*te), Shaw-Ciosland, H. Dr.ver (Horseshoe Budi) ; captain, James Sinclair; deputy - captain, O. Honke ; secretary, Jno. Sinclair ; trea6urer, Archd. Pateraon, ]un. ; cu9t«di>\n8 — C. Henke, Jno. SincUir, and I. Kooning ; conifloitter — C RobeHsm, T. A^nm, F. Henke, A. H. Sixti-n, P Kro.niig, E Chandler, N. PalersoK, A. PAbereon, T. Viluo^ki ; auditor, Mr C Robertson. A large numbrr of new members wete elected, and the subscripnon for active members was fixed at 10s ; a proposal to lower the subscription being negatived by a large majority. It was resolved — " That the season be opened on Fiiday evening, 4th October, a v>rocei?sion of b^ats to Bfcart from the shed at 5.30 o'clo k, and that the Henley Club be invited to t->ke part." It was agreed that the club &hiukl endeavour to send a crew to the Port Cbftlm'irs Regatta on Boxing Day. A quantity of minor ba tineas was despatched, and after passing a vote of thanks to the chairman the meeting adjourned.
