• . • Tho annual meeting of the Carisbrook Cricket Club was held iv Wain's Hotel on Saturday night, and was attended by about 40 members. The chair was occupied by Mr C. W. Rattr*y, who, in moving the adoption of the report, feelingly referred to the loss the club had sustained through the death of Mr Henry Rose. He perhaps knew as well as anybody else the loss his death meant, for he knew the interest Mr Rose had taken in athletics generally, and in oricket particularly. Mr Rose was one of the original founders of the Carisbrook Club, aud one who assisted to make it blossom into a club of note. He was a member when the club played at Montecido, and worked night after night at levelling the ground. It was nob too much to aay thab there wag no one in Dunedin who had done so much forcricket as Mr Rose had done. Messrs J. Rattray and J. H. Hosking were elected presidents, Mr F. D.
