INVERCARGILL STOCK SALES.
The J. Q. Ward Fakmehs' Association of New Zealand (Limited) report having held their fortnightly stock sale at th« Inverc*rgill yatds on {Tuesday. The attendance was good, and the demand brisk for good quality, and prices were In most cases in favour of vendors.
Fat Oattle.— About 100 head yarded, including several pens of prime quality. Be3t bullocks brought up to £10 2s 6d ; medium, £7 10a to £9 ; light, £5 10a to £6 10b; best cowb to £9 ss; lighter, £6 to £7 10s ; heifers, £5 2s 6d to £6. Store Cattle.— A large entry, iucluding young growing sorts. The demand was fair, but prices fixed by vendors in many inßtances were over what buyers cared to give, so several lines were turned out unsold. Best cows, ju3t calved, brought up to £6; medium, £4 to £5; good ■beifers. near calving, up to £4 15s : two-year-olds, 66b to 60s ; calves, 22s to 30s. Sheep.— Only a medium entry. Best wethers brought up to Us 6d ; medium, 12a to 1.3s 6d ; ewas, 10s to 11§ 8d ; do. in lamb (of which there km a fair entry), 8s to 11s 2d ; hoggets, 6s 6d to
Horw Market.— On Saturday we had a heavy entry, and for best sort* good demand at up to £26, £U, and £20 ; medium, £10 to £18. Hacks are still dull of sale.
