THE MINERS' ASSOCIATION.
In response to tbe advertisement of the Otago I Miners' Asiociation between 50 and 60 men met in the basement of the Garrison Hall on the afternoon of the 28th. Mr G. Fenwick stated that the men had been atked to meet there in order that the names of thoee willing to go out with the minirg parties might be taken down. The names would be taken and the selection made afterwards. Mr Lorie would read the conditions, but there would be no argument or discusiton. Tbe conditions having been read, 42 of the men came forward and gave in their names as willing to go, and of this number about a down had been engaged in miniDg befor*. It was notified that the first party had b*en ohoien, and they would leave by train next morning the second party to follow the day after.
The Otago Miners' Afsociation have received the following additional eubscripticm to their funds i.— Messes Paterson and B»rr, £5 ; Mr A. Thomson (tentmaker), £5 ; Messrs Arthur Briecoe end Co., £5.
The only transaction at the Crown Lands Office tbis week was the purchase (for cash) by Charles Low of section 25d, block VII, Shotover, one acre, for 20s.
