Grandma's Funeral.
A sad-eyed schoolboy aptr.achul the master and begged leave of ab*cncu for tho nftcrnoou, in order to run the errands of his sick grandmother.
The master, pitying tho helplessness of the infirm old womnn, grai.fed his request. Some time aftir the boy aghin ask. d permis►ion to be absant, as his ftiandmother was dyicg, and, needless to say, his ictition was a Becond t"me granted.
A ftw days later the poor boy, with tears in his eyes, begged leave to attend his grandmothers funeral, and far the third tiac he was excused attendance at school.
About 5 p.m. the same day an irate female viciously r*ng the door-bell, and indignantly demanded of the schoolmaster why the boy wav detained at school every afternoon. " My dear woman," exclaimed the astonished! pedagogue, " I thought you were dead and buried. Your grand ton has gone to you? funeral ! "
