The visitors thon adopted a more open game, but » bull pa«i*d to G»ge was blowa to Nesbitt;, who with Ward and Boot* dribbled to Auckland's territory, Botib rpwling the chanca by baud-balling. A little later Auckland w»s forced down. Just ob h»'f-time, after a good forward rush, Clarkin oroMed the line after a nice run, but Abst-lum failed with the kick. The score was even at the com-nencmeut of the second &|el, but fsvuiired by the wind Auckland apsumed the ©flkVu-ivr, and ktpt Nelson on the defensive till near the tnd of the game. Green aud Absolum t*ch scored a try, but in each case the kick wan a failure. Absolum and Murray had ■ev«r»l free kicks at fairly e*sy range, bot xnii' j»dged the force of the wind, and all failed.
