AID TO PROSPECTING.

Our party of two or thre" men in each riding, partially worked or prospected countiy— for sinking in dry g'ound 6d per foot from surface to 15ft, Is fid from 15ft to 60ft, and 2s over 60ft, with double the above rates foi wet ground requiring slabbing ; for tunnelling and driving through drift or blu- >eef 9'i pei foot up to 300 ft, Is 9d per fo >t f ..m 300 ft to 700 ft. 2* 3i per foot from 700 ft to 1000 ft, 3-. for over 1000 ft, aud 3s per foot through hard rock requiring l>la ting the whole distance. Prospectors must send their names t the local body or miners' association and state the locality. The proposals must be approved of by the Minister for Mines. The amount payable to any county council in on" year shall not exceed £500 and to road boards £200.
