WELLINGTON NOTES.
By Onlooker. May 18. The only event of the week in thiß district has been the Autumn Hack meeting of the Foxton Racing Club, and although there was plenty to interest the goodly number who attended, there was nothing very exciting about the sport, and in the dividends there wasn't one double-figure scorer. Wellington sportsmen and the large number of newspaper readers interested in horse-racing hare grumbled loudly at the shortcomings of the reports aent down from the Fox'on district. Evidently thera is more than one Sleepy Hollow in this corner of the footefcO)l—even though the tclegr*ph office might close earl]'. As you will have had the results sent you by the Press Association it is not worth my doubling on it. The United Hont Club is getting off its weekly meets, and the membsrs have enjoyed the runs immensely. Kuraraea (by Tim Whiffle— K<vte CoT(-ntry), who ran third in the Hurdle R*ce at Foxfcou, ■was sold a^ter the race to Mr R. Stavtn*, of F&linerMiou Noith, for £18 10a.
