LAND BOARD.

The weekly mestiog of the Land Board was held on Wednesday, and was attended by Mo3BVti J. P. Maitland (chairman), W. Dallas, H. Clark, J. Duncan, and A. M Kerrow. Catlins District. -Consideration was given to a proposed surrender by A. C Faiquhar of southern portion (191 a3r 32p) of sectiou 4, block VI, Catlins district —Surrender agreed to. lUnklf.durn Distmct. — Stock Inspector Ha9sall forwarded an application from J. W. Gent for a grazing right over section 1, block VII, and section 4-3, block VI, llankleburn district. — The matter was referred to the chief commissioner. Tiun»fer Approved. -The transfer of perpetual lease of section 51, block I, Catlins, from Thomas Knowles to James aud John Mitchell was approved. Glks'omaru.— The transfer of part of perpstual lease 6G4, compriing 93 acres of Bection 80, block Vllf, Glencmaru, was approved. A Contested Case.— The board considered an application to transfer perpstual lease 1067, section 8, block I, Manntoto, from Margaret A. Murdoch to Geirge Deveney. Mr W. O. Macgregor appeared for Margaret Murdoch, and the lion. Johu MacGregor for the Farmeis' Agency (mortgagees).— Evidence was taken, after which the hoard deferred the further hearluc; of the matter. The meating was then adjourned till Friday.
