The Government were, however, doing all they could fcr the unemployed, and he had arranged for some work that would, he hoped, re!i-ve their immediate wants. He had arranged that 14 or 15 of bhem should be Bekc'.ed for the OUgo Central, that the number for Galatea (35 miles north of Rotoraa) would be increased from fiva bo probably 15, and ths road works on the Maerewhenua— Bortju'i estate— would bo pub in hand in 10 day.J, aud all the men wanted for that work would be drawn from the unemployed o£ Oamaru. He tru&ted that that would relieve the p.-e«Bijre, «nd snid tho Government would do ail they cauld for them.
