Sailor Jack led up from Dean Swift and showed a distinct superiority iv a course in which neither vvoiked welL Prefix led Sydenham a couple of lcDgthi and beat him pointless, the latter fctandiug off. Clement 3 Touic beat Quisknaarch for ps>CP, and tbe latter only had two very brief innings in a Jongish coiuse. Carnage raced past My Jack to the lirtt turn and did most of th» woik. 11. Prefix beat Sailor Jack Clements Tonic beat Carnage. Prefix led Sailor Jack and had a good deal the best of a gruelling course— the longest ot tha meeting— after a very btrong hare, wbich, however, could not find its way through the escapes, and. after o determined bid for its life, waß killed, both dogs-Sailor Jack especially— being done up by the severe trial.

The settling in connection with the meeting took place on Friday night, when the following amounts were paid over :— J. Graham, £140 8s ; Kelly and M'Gillicaddy, £76 10s ; J. C. Jerome, £22 10s; B. R. Kidd, £16 4s; G. Livingstone, £13 10s; O. R. Wise, £11 14a; S. Bladon, £10 16s ; R. AUen, £9 ; M. Hayes, £9 ; J. Gibson, £9 ; T. White, £4 10a; S. Myers, £3 12«. Mr Graham also gets the gold mtd»l presented by Mr E. Hogg. In addition to the abovo Me Graham received £20 9s, Messrs Kelly and M'Gillicuddy £15 6s 9d, and Mr Jerome £5 2» 3d, being proportion of money added to th.9 stake for the principal event.
