HUNTING.
DUNEDIK HOUNDS. Tahuna Park was fixed for the meeting place on Saturday, it being understood that the run nou'.d be iv tho direction of Anderson's Bay, and beiug a naw line cf country some curiosity was evinced as to the jumps, &c. to ba ncgotiattd. The weather being all that could be desired there was a very large attendance, a patronage that on this occcs'on was ill requited, as the sport shown wa3 not by aDy means up to : previous- records. The run started through some small paddocks at Musselburgh in the occupation ot Mr Tagger!-, and although that; I gen kman tried his basb and went to a gojd dual of trouble to tra'ic good sport, from some , cause or other not eas ly defined it ended dia- ■ appointingly. Tbe slippery state of .tha ground 1 might have becu a factor to it, or perhaps the cramped nature of aorao of the take-offs. The j fences to b3 crossed were not at all high, yefc we'l-kuown performer* stuck up and refusals were frequent ; in fact there wa? lmdly a horse that did not misbehave at one time or other through the runs. Mr Roberts rode a brown gelding; Mr Sinclair, Troubadour; Mr Riid, Kelly ; Mr H. Gourley, Summer; Mr Orbell, ! Oberon ; Mr Cotter, Wnitangi ; Mr Finlay, Post and Rails; Mr 11 Wiujtteld, RatfcUr ; Mr Burd, Dunraven; Mr S. Gourley, Silvertail ; Mr Patron, Stocliiuge; Mr Caas. Newmau, Doisald Dinnie ; Mr Taggarb, Petrel ; Mr Sue, Videtfce; Mr M'Ardle, Bonmore; a stranger, F»csraason ;Mr Parker, Nuggot ; Frank Smith, Digby ; tbe whip (J. Bamber), Dunblane ; Mrs Wrtlcot, Fairy ; Mrs Swausoa, Donovan ; Miss Fortescue, Fancy ; Mis« Fagan, Raven ; Mra A. Johnstone, Caledonia ; Mr J. Sfephenson and Mr Jntnea H« zlett attended with a horse and buggy ; Mr Woods and party, horse aud dogcart; Mr James Gourley pair hoisas and drag, and some tight or ten uioie drags and vehicles of d fforerit descriptions. A start was made from the Qucen'b Drive ovtr a jump iuto a gr*ss pidilock, the huntsman and whip leading the way. At the next ptst-and-rad Digby, carrying tha huntsman, baulked, and the whip's home (DunbUmi) followed the bad example, and finished by getting in the wire and dislodging Bamber. From this out occurred a series of refusals, Mrs Swineou's horse Donovan giving tbat lady a fall aud galloping <fr. Stockings came down, unseating Mr Paterson, and this did not by any means complete the list of casualties, as evidenced by the soil adhering to 1b.3 cats of K'Hia of the ridors. The run was coitiDuecl through Mr Brookes's propei ty, aud finish* d near the Anderson's Bay road. In tha run back the horsts seemed to take more kindly to their work, and huntsman and whip etuok closely to the pack, finishing pear tha Queen's Drive, a few of the field being close up. Nimkod.
