agreeable weather, the widely known and favourable reputation of the stock attracted a large gathering, aud Mr Marshall's many personal friends turned out in forca to show their good feeling and appreciation of his many good qualities, and to testify to his deseived p puUrity ; aud when bidding commenced it became quite apparent the dull and wet morning had no depressing effect on the spirits of ths buy- iv. Bids came quick and strong, and biddiug throughout the sale continued exceedingly brisk, resulting in one of the best sales we have had this season, cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, and implements all quickly changing hands at veiy full rates. Cattle.— Dairy cows sold at £7 17s Hi. to £5 ; heifers, £5 10* to £3 ss; steers, £4 12s 6d ; yearlings, £1 15 d; calves, 20* to IG3. Horses.— Draught horses sold at £2510.1 to £o 10s ; unbroken colts and fillies, £14 to £8 10s ; hacks, £27 10d to £11 15i. Sheep.— Crossbred wethers and maiden ewes sold at 9s to 7s Id ; crossbred ewes (in lambs), 8a 4i to 6s 7d ; stud Romney Maivh ewes, 2ls 61 ; Romney rams, l£ij; Romney ram lambs, 10s 6d. Pigs.— Brood sows sold at 62s b'd to 42s 6d ; porkors, 35s to 2Gs ; slip?, 15s to 14s. Implements all realise! highly satisfactory prices.
