TAIERI STOCK SALE.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report as follows :— We held our usual stcck fair at Ti'eri ealeyards, Greytown, on Tuesday, the Obh April, when we submitted an entry of 12S0 sheep, 57 cattle, and 12 hoisea. There was a large attendance of farmeis, graziers, and others, and for cattle of all sorts there was a fair demand, and moderate competition up to market rates. Sheep weie not in much request. Crossbred ewes to mate for early lambing were in most request. Two-tooth crossbreds and lambs aloo secured buyers, but at lew values. Hoises were not wanted, and only one sold. Full-m<Hith ewes sold at 3s to 3s 3d ; Limbs, 2s 3d to 4s Id ; two-tooth (mixed sexes). 5s 3d to 5s 9d ; dairy cows at £3 5s to £4 \Qa ; fat do, at £5 17s G1 ; steers, at £"S 83 6d to £4 17s 6d ; young cattle, at £1 10s to £2 ss ; calves, at lls to £1 Is. Oar next fair will be held on Tuesday, 7th May, at 1 o'clock. Pailics catering stock will oblige by sending particulais in time to be advertised.
