MILTON.
October 30. — The long spell of dry, warm weather we are having ia the general topic of conversation just now, and. farmers aye beginning to look serious in view of the backward state of things, ground still to plough being a^ hard as brick?, and grass doing little or nothing. The sales to-day were well attended, and a goodly number of sheep and lambs were yarded, and mostly cleared at satisfactory prices. Dairy ing. —The dairy factory is now in full swing, and an abundant supply of milk is coming forward
Bowutjg.-— Our local green has. been opened for the season, the opening day being" made the occasion of a very pie. sant afternoon. A number of ladies graced the green with their presence, and all enjoyed the tea and cake provided by Host Bastings, and also the music by the Milton Brass Baud. Soirek.— The Presbyterian Church held their annual social on the 19th, it being as usual well attended.
Obituary. — Death has been among us again. This time it is- a young mother who ia taken— the wife of Mr Robertson, sohool teacher at Fairfax. Much sympathy is frit for Mr Robertson in his sore trial. Three children are left, the youngest a fortnight old.
