FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT.

Messrs Thomas Faterson and Co., fruit and produce agents, Manse street, report for the week ending October 10 : — Fruit. — The market is quite bare of apples. The fevr cases landed ex the Waihora brought higher prices than have been ruling for some time. Oranges are also in short supply. We are landing small lots of Fiji oranges and pineapples to-morrow. Quotations are : Oranges — Sydney, 5s 6d to 78. Lemons, 5s to 7s. Mandarins, 10s. Pineapples, 10s to 12s per ca«e. Fiji oranges 7s. Apples : Crab, Stunner, and stone pippins, 8s to 10s ; scarlet pearmains, 9s to 12s. Bananas, lid to 2d. New tig-i (in drums, bags, and boxes), also date?, and other fruiterers' accessories always in stock at market rates. Produce. — Eggp, fairly plentiful, but strong demand. Fresh butter has been a glut during paßt few days. Bacon : Prime roll (constant supply in stock), 6d to Sid ; hams, 7d to 8d ; Sides, 6d to 6Jd- Pigs, did to 3id. Cheese - Akaroa, 4d to 4id ; factory, 4Jd to sd. Honey, 4d to 4id. Beeswax, Is. Potatoes : Derwent*, 30s to 355. Onions, £15 to £17. Chaff, 47s 6d to 52s 6d. Poultry.— ln good demand, and full rates obtained for all arrivals.
