Stanley having decided to increase the 'accommodation the ladies took the matter in hand and carried it to a successful conclusion. The building has been lengthened by 25ft. On the occasion of the reopening special services were held. Holy communion was celebrated at an early hour, at 11 o'clock there were matins and another celebration, while at 7.30 there was a choral evensong. The services during the day were well attended, and at night there was an exceptionally large congregation. The first part of the service was sung by the Rev. F. C. Watson, and the second part by the Rev. F. W. Martin. The first lesson was read by the Rev. A. D Mitchell and the second by the curate in charge, the Rev. T. L. Stanley. Bishop Nevill preached, taking his text from Ephesiana iii, 20, 21. The services were continued the following day, and in the evening a conversazione was held in the Town Hall. There was a large number present. Addresses were delivered by Bishop Nevill and the Ray. Mr Mitchell, while songs were contributed by Mesdames Brent and Dolamore.
