DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Weekly Report. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows : — For the convenience of those from a distance attending the annual horse parade we held our weekly sale on Friday instead of Saturday. There was a large entry of hacks, harness hones, and spring cart and draughts. A fair number changed owners. The demand for draughts was not very great, but for spring van horses or light draughts suitable for grocers' carts the demand was very good, and no difficulty was experienced in placing all horses of that class. Strong harness horseß and weight-carrying hacks were also well competed for, and indications were not wanting that good sales of these sorts may be relied on for the next month or two. Light and inferior hacks were not so well competed for, but a number of these also changed hands at a slight advance on values ruling for the past few months. We quote : First-class draughts (extra heavy), £25 to £30 ; good ordinary draughts (young), £18 to £22 ; medium draughts, £12 to £16 ; aged draughts, £6 to £10 ; good hacks and harness horses, £12 to £16 ; medium do, £7 to £9 ; light and inferior do, £2 10s to £5.
