LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by Messrs J. Duncan (in the chair), H. Clark, and A. M'Kerrow.

Tarbas. — Ranger M'Kenzie forwarded his report upon section 8, block IX, Tarras district, the p^i'i etu-il lea c if which Sir S-mnel Clarke (Messrs K. B. Martin and Son, ag nts) had applied for leave to surrender, and it was agreed to accept the surrender on. condition that thf rent now due be paid Forfeiture Rescinded. — On -the Receiver of Land Revenue's report that John M'Kinlay, whose perpetual lease bad been declared forfeited for nou-p*\ nient of rent had now paid all arrears, the resolution declariog the lease to be fcrfeitea was rescinded.

Alexandra. — Th« d-cision was deferred for one week of a cvinmnnicatiou from the Alexandra Borough Council recommending that the township should be r< surveyed before the tale, as no trace of pegs cou'd now be found, and urging that the sale should b j held at Alexandra ; ai d alfo of a letter from Mr M. Macdonald, of Alexandra, requesting that the sale of sections at Alexandra be held there — The board decided to allo.v no valuation for improvements upon section 10, biuclt VI, Alexandra, but if it should be sold to any person otber than Mr Wm. Hansen he should be allowed one month for the removal ot the improvements.

Exemption from Residence. — Mrs S. Tregonning, who applied through Messrs Donald Reid and Co., was granted exemption from residence upon her lease in perpetuity sect.ona 16 and 17, block X, Maniototo district, a3 she was residing with her husband on the land adjoining. North Harbour and Bluesxin. — An application by Mr Augustine M'Mahon for a lease of section 23, block XI, North Harbour and Blueskin district, was referred to -the ranger to report. Tiger Hill. — An application by Mr W. L. Simpson, on behalf of Mr William Keble, for leave to acquire a small portion of section 3, block I, Tiger Hill, was referred < o the ranger to .report ; and a request by Mr Simpson, on beh»lf cf a clien', for information as to whether the board v?ere p epared *o deal with sections I 4 and 5 block I, Tiger Hill, tempo 'ary railway i reserves, was himiiarly dealt with

Havelock — Jn connection with Mr John Dwjer's application for secti< n 11, block XXXII, town ot Havelock, it was resolved to offer the section at auction at an upset of £5, wirn £80 valuation for improvements.

Lovek Wanaka. — Mr T. Chalnier, on behalf of a client, desired to a- certain if the board would withdra * section* 13 and 15, block V, Lo«er Wunaka district, from sale, with the view of offering ttem under pa4oral license.— Consideration was deferred for one week.

Waipoei. — It was agreed to graut, under clause 116 of the act, to Mr 11. Robinson, a grazing license over section 15, block VI, "\Vaipori d. 6' rice, and the adjoining mining reserve, section 16, at an annual rent of 2d per acre, vitli a license fee oi 21s.
