The Hercules compan-e.- are not in ho satisfactory a position, but the parent company, I hear, is doing fairly well, and No. 2 is on payable gold. The Roxburgh dredge is doing well. A dividend of Is (Id was paid last Saturday, and there is every probability of more to follow. It is a good property. Mr William AtkinsoD, who has for some time be<-.n th" manager of Hercules 2, has resigned the management in order to take charge of the valuable mining interests of Mr Sew Hoy at Nokomai Mr Atkinson has done good service, and his abilities will be foui d of great benefit to his new employer He is everything that a mine manager ought to be. He was entertained at the Athenasum last week, and a handsome watch was presented to him. The new manager is Mr David Robertson, who has had considerable experience. He will need it all at this sea-o-i of the year.
