LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the L.and Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitlnnd (chief commissioner),, H. Clark, A. M'Kerrow, W. Dallas, and J. Duncan.

Forfeiture Rescinded. — The Receiver of Land Revenue having reported that W. Johnston, whose perpetual lease at Gimmerburn had been declared forfeited on May 30 last, bad now paid all arrears, the resolution of forfeiture in his case was rescinded.

Kntu. — An application by Mr James Graham for leave to acquire section 17, block XIII, Rimu, was declined. Gimmrhhutis. —An application by Mr Andrew Kearney for leave to acquire a sufficient area to make up his present holding to 640 acres was referred to the ranger to report BlackstoNe. — Consideration of an application by Mr William Dowling to transfer small grazing Run 224p, Blackstone, to Mr Jamfs M'Knight, was deferred. Koadlines.— The Waitaki, Waihemo, Vincent, and Taieri county councils, and the Balmoral Road Board, forwarded statements and plans showing tho proposed expenditure of thirds and fourths accrued during tho period from February 29 to April 28, 1894.— The roadlinos were approved. Sundry Applications — The following application.i were approved :— For refund of perpetual lease fee : Thomas Allan, section 26, block X, Woodland. To exchange perpetual lease for leise in perpetuity : John M'Carthy, section 10, bock 111, Lower Hawea. To transfer small grazing run : Peter Flannery to Henry Agnew, Kun 224 i, Blackstone, (Messrs R. B. Martin and Son, agents). To complete purchase of deferred payment land : William Daniel, section 5, block VIII, Tuapeka West. Payment of Valuation. — The board authorised the Receiver of Land Revenue to pay over to the persons respectively entitled to receive them the following amounts received as valuation for improvements :— Section 9, block 111, Lower Hawea, £18 ; section 15, block I, Blackstone, £19 ss; sections ;22; 22 to 24, block 111, Poolburu, £40 8s 6d ; section 15, block I, and section 1, block X, Gimmerburn, £12 7s 6d ; section 10, block VI, Rock and Pillar, £1 4s ; section 12, block VI, Rock and Pillar, £2 16s ; section 67, block XII, Lower Hawea, £10 2s 6d; section 8, block V, Lower Wanaka, £4 14a 6d.

Sutton.— Messrs R. B. Martin and Son, on behalf of a client, applied for a license to occupy the recreation and cemetery reserves in bock XV, Sutton —A letter was read from Mr T. K. Sidey, on behalf of a client, objecting to the application on the ground that the owners of property in tho vicinity would be unable, if it were granted, to get access to the Taieri river to water their stock, and requesting that, if it were decided to grant a license to occupy, a chance to obtain licenses should be offered to others who might be desirous of obtaining them. — The matter was referred to the ranger.
