Re Butchery at Anderson's Bay,

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Your Anderson's Bay correspondent makes some comments in hi 3 last letter on the establishment of a butchery at the bay, in whioh he expresses the opinion that there is no legitimate opening for suoh a business. It is an old saying that it is a very good job wo are not all of the same opinion, for the very opinion he gives is the reason J came to the conclusion that a butcher's shop is wanted, and that very badly, in the bay. lam of the same opinion as himself — that it will have to be conducted in a different manner to the ones that hive gone before it, but I am not of the same opinion that the present butchers will keep better meat than I intend to do. My prices will also, I hope, boar favourable comparison with the rates ruling at present. If your correspondent will honour me with his presence on the day I open I shall, I think, convince him of (he ad--visability of supporting the local butchor. After 20 years' residence in the bay, and Saav* ing learnt the butchering 30 years before that* I think I shall be able to please a great number* if nob all, of the bay and district jesidents, especially as I have made arrangements to have my slaughtering done at No. 1 yardp, so favourably reported on by the mayor of Danedin. — L am, &c, Samuel Lewis Brookes, Anderson's Bay, June 11.
