Bachelors' Bali — A dance was given by the bachelors here on Friday evening, and the weather being fine there was a large attendaace, about 80 people being present. Most ef the music was Bupplied by Mr Williams (from the Deep Stream sluicing claim), who with his violin and comic songs greatly contributed to the success of the evening. The ladies who sang songs duriDg the intervals between the dances weie Miß3 Burneide, Miss M'Kenzie, Miss J. Edwards, and Miss Bain ; and with Mr Harrison as M.C, the whole affair was a decided success. Refreshment J , in the shape of sandwiches and cakes, were supplied by the Outram baker, and wtra very good of their kind, even the tea itself, although made by the bachelors, not being " smoked." Cemetery.— ln order to raise funds to put the cemetery into shape and improve the present dilapidated state of the fence, it is proposed to give another entertainment in a month or so, and I feel sure the residents in the neighbourhood will turn out in force to aid in such a deserving object.
