MOUNT IDA MUSTERS' ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meetirjg of the Mount Ida Miners' Association was held in the Town Hall, Naseby, on the evening of Saturday, the 28th ult. The committee members present were — Messrs G. W. Mason (chairman), A. M'G. Brown, R. Donelly, J. Petersen, D. C. White, W. Blair, J. Smith, and A. M'Neill (secretary). The minutes of the previous monthly meeting weie read and confirmed on the motion of Mr D. C. White, seconded by Mr R. Donelly.
The mku'x s of a special meeting of the association, held in the Town Hall, on the evening of the 10th April, were also read and confirmed on the motion of Mr R. Donelly, seconded by Mr J. Smith.
A telegram was received from the Secretary of tho Waipori branch of the confederacy re the injunction issued to the dredges, all of which had been stopped working. After along discussion, it was moved by Mr A. M'G. Brown, and seconded by Mr J. Smith — "That thi3 association strongly urge upon the Government to proclaim the Waipori river a sludge channel for mining, and that the secretary be instructed to wire to our member (the Hon. J. M'Kenzio) and to the Minister for Mines a copy of the resolution passed at our meeting."— Carried unanimously. It was moved by Mr A. M'G. Brown, seconded by Mr J. Petebsen, and carried—
"That an account of £1 17s be passed for payment." The usual vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
