NEW ZEALAND CYCLISTS' ALLIANCE.

A general meeting of the New Zealand Cyclists' Alliance waa held at the Pioneer Bicycle Club rooms on Tuesday, 13th inst., when there were present Messrs W. B. Eyre (in the chair). T. W. Reese, F. J. DunD, R. Sneddon, J. C. Cusack, E. A. England, W. F. Waller, W. J. S. Hayward, and H. J. Moss (hon. sec.). Permission was granted to the promoters of the Wellington Druids' Gala to hold four bicycle races. The programmes of the Taieri Ramblers' Club for March 10 and the Pioneer Club for March 17 were approved, and the latter club was granted permission to hold the Half-mile Provincial Championship. The Heretaunga Bicycle Club, of Hastings, Hawke'a Bay, and Gisborne Cycling Clubs wrote asking to be affiliated, and the former's request was granted, but the latter's was referred to the Executive Committee to deal with, as they had not sent a list of their members. A letter was received from the Pioneer Bicycle Club asking for a donation to assist in paying off the fine on the trophies received from Sydney. Mr Waller proposed — "That this alliance makes a donation of 2gs towards the fund." Mr Hayward seconded the motion, which, after some discussion, was carried. The Geraldine Club wrote asking the alliance to strike the names of James Henry and Jamea Findley from the list of members supplied by them, they having competed as professionals. — It was decided that the secretary should write to the club on the subject, and to Mr Henry, who wrote on the subject of his disqualification. Permission was granted to the Takapau Caledonian Society to hold a bicycle race at their sports, subject to their forwarding the name o£ the handicapper. Mr Norris wrote stating that he had won a prize at the Rangiora meeting, and he was informed by the secretary of the Rangiora Club that he would bo given an order on a Rangiora tradesman. He replied asking to bo given an order on a Christchurch firm, and the secretary " of the Rangiora Club wrote again saying that this could not be done. Mr Waller said he had also won a prize at Rangiora, and according to the rules of the alliance under which the meeting was held he was entitled to an order on any firm he pleased. On the motion of Mr Cusack, seconded by Mr Dunn, it was decided to writo to the Rangiora Club pointing out the rule on the subject, and that in the opiuion of the alliance Mr Norris was entitled to an order on any firm. Sanders (Dunedin CO), 134 miles in 12br 56oiin, from Dunedin to luvercargill, January 26, was passed as a Dunedin Club record. Three small -accounts were passed for payment. "" It was resolved to leave the question of a badge for breaking a standard to the executive. Mr H. J. Moss wrote resigning his position as hon. secretary, and on the motion cf Mr Hayward, seconded by Mr Waller, the resignation was accepted with- regret, and the alliance placed on record their appreciation of the manner in which Mr Moss had carried out his work during his term of office. Mr J. C. Cusack was appointed to fill the vacancy.
