Ettrick races are fixed for St. Patrick's Day when £170Iwill be given in stakes. Nominations close !on Saturday, 10th inst. A little over £170 is announced to be given in stakes at the Riverton meeting on Easter Monday. The programme includes a Maiden Steeplechase and an Open Steeplechase— two events that should find favour in the eyes of owners in that district — and there is also a flat race for hunters. The other events are a Hurdle llace, a MaidenJPlate.Sthe Riverton Handicap of 3530V5, the Flying, and the newly-instituted St. Leger, for three-year-olds bred in Southland. Mr T. R. Wintoa will take nominations up to the Bth March. The Beaumont programme for Easter Monday consists of eight items, of which the principal are the Beaumont Handicap of 30sovs, a mile and aquarter, and the Trot of 30sovs, two miles and ahalf, but other events are of almost the same value and owners ought not to complain of the v/ay the stake money is divided.
