February 19.— The True Blue Lodge, I O G.T., held their utual fortnightly meeting on Thursday, the 15th inst. In the absence of the C T., Bro. Turner opened and closed the lodge in the usual manner. A letter was read from Bro. BHikie, P.C.T., stating that he was present at the Temperance Congress held recently in Milton as representative of the True Blue Lodge: thut the meeting was of opinion that very little would be gained by the nomination of committees on ac«
fcount of their having so little power under the act ; that it was decided to have pamphlets printed and distributed to every elector on the roll, the estimated cost of the circulars to amount to £l(i, the temperance societies in Waitahuna to contribute £3 ; that all temperance societies vote 11 No license." On the motion of Bro. West it was decided to donate £2, and Bro. M'Ara was appointed a delegate to attend the next meeting, to be held on Tuesday, 20th iust. The secretary s quarterly report was then read, after which the ollicers removed their regalia and retired, and the officers for the ensuing quarter were duly installed by Bro. Patrick, L.D , assisted by the installing marshals, Bros. West and Black,
Agricultural. — Harvesting operations arc in full swing, farmers taking advantage of the seasonable weather.
