CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES.

Christchurch, February 16.— The fourth series of Christchurch wool sales was held to-day, when about 4000 bales were offered. There was a small attendance, and as the bulk of the wool offered was not of a desirable quality competition was dull and a large proportion of the wool entered passed in. The few well-conditioned crossbreds and halfbreds entered sold at fairly maintained rates, but for indifferent lots and merinos generally biddings fell short of last sales. Good greasy halfbreds sold up to BJd, crossbred to 7Jd, and merinos to 6?d. Scoured merino sold to 13d, and halfbred to the same figure.
