THE GAZETTE.
The following are gazetted officers under the Fisheries' Conservation Act for Otago district : Walter G. Morrie, of Clinton ; Robert Robson, of Waikawa; James Hislop, of Kaitangata ; George Valentine, of Otaira ; John C. Bayley, of Nevis; and William W. Masters, of Nevis. The same gentlemen are also gazetted rangers under the Animals' Protection Act. The appointment of the Hon J. G. Ward as Minister for Industries and Commerce, and of Charles Richard Valentine as chief dairy expert to the Government of New Zealand, is gazetted to-night.
A girl named Majorie Gibbes, aged 15 years daughter of Dr Murray Gibbes, was drowned in the Goulbum river al Mooroopna, Victoria while bathing.
