Chess Items.

Mr Grinsted the elder, treasurer of the Otago Chess Club, being about to remove to Arrowtown, has resigned. The board and men presented for competi lion by Dr Stenhouse, and won by Mr IS. P. Grinsted, have been on view in Messrs Wilkie and Co.'s window in Princes street during the past week. The men, of full club size, Imperial pattern, and the board, of mahogany panels with holly and walnut Bquares, are very handsome articles. They were specially ordered from tho British Chess Co., Limited.
