HONOR v. STATESMAN.
The following are the details of this trotting match decided at Melbourne on the 31st ulfc :—: — Trottino Match, for a trophy value 10 guineas, presented by the club, and £50 a-Bide. Weights, 11.7 each. Two miles. Mr C. E. Alexander's eh g Honor, by Honesty, dam by Daaiel Boone, Oyrs or aged (Mr W. Whitburn) 1 Mr W. Featherby's b g Statesman, aged (Mr A. Millsom) 2 Betting 10 to 9 on Honor. The horses were sent away to a good start, but Statesman soon forged ahead, and established a lead of three lengths. Before going half a mile Honor passed Statesman, and when a mile had been covered was 15 lengths to the good.
