Get a qualified expert to give the mare a thorough overhaul, and he will point out the ailment and prescribe the necessary treatment. W. P.— lt might be better to discontinue the poulticing and give the foal a dessertspoonful of cod liver oil once a day, allowing the mare a wellsheltered paddock with plenty of feed. T. W. W.— I am afraid your dog is too far gone to be easily cured. Put him on a milk-and-bread sop diet or beef tea and cooked rice, administering a little tonic medicine.
The Tuapeka Times reports that the stock inspector and Mr Gilruth, the veterinary surgeon, visited Waitahuua to inspect some alleged diseased cattle. They found three diseased animals, one of which they killed. A vast mnrtem of the carcase 6howed that the beast was infected with cancer. The other two, though diseased, were not of so dangerous a nature.
