Thomas Paterson and Co., fruit and produce •gents, Manse street, report for week ending February 7 :—
Fruit of all kinds very plentiful, and prices very low. We landed on Saturday, exTe Anau, from Melbourne, 450 pkgs assorted fruit, which arrived in very good order. Pines (almost unsaleable), 4s to 6s per case. Pears : William, Bon Chretien, 9s to 10s ; Jargonelles, ljd to 2d. Apples : Ribstones, 83 to 9a ; cooking, 4s to ss ; local, Id to lid. Oranges and lemons : Lisbona, 255. Tomatoes (market glutted) : Auckland, Id to lid ; Nelson, 2d ; hothouse, 4d. Grapes (short supply), Is. Plums, 2s to 4s 6d per case. Bananas (bare), 2d to 2£d. Produce.— Potatoes : Kidneys, short supply: Derwents (a few coming forward), £4 to £4 10s. Eggs scarce. Fresh butter, 4}d to 7d ; salt have sold at 6Jd. Cheese : Akaroa, 4d to 4Jd ; Peninsula, 4Jd. Honey, 3id to 4id
