BLACKSTONE.

February 5 — We have had very changeable weather here during the past three weeks — rain, hail, and very pold winds. The glass is, however, going up steadily, and I think the weather has now taken a turn for the better. The farmers were beginning to look serious, as the crops are very heavy in most cases. The squatter is also a sufferer, very few of them having finished shearing. Amusements.— This being such a sleepy little place, there is very little fun for the young people and children. The only bit of excitement lately was a picnic given by the school committee on the 3rd inst. It was not badly attended, conBidering the day was so stormy. The youngsters seemed wonderfully pleased with the beautiful prizes awarded them for races, &c. There was also a dance in the evening, which was patronised by young and old. It is to he hoped the committee will give the children another picnic at the end of the year, when perhaps they will be able to call it "our annual." Weddings.— From what I see and hear, I think I shall have two or three weddings to write about in a few weeks, so until then adieu.
