A RICH CLAIM.

Press Association— By Telegraph— Copyright. Pkhth, February 2. Bayley's Eeward claim at Coolgardie has struck wonderfully rich gold in tbe hundred foot level The face grows richer and it is now yellow with gold. Very rich leaders have also been discovered in a number of other claims. February 5. At the new find in Bayley'a claim at Coolgardie 3OOoz were taken out in two hours. The gold is exceedingly massive, and at times was cut out with a chisel. Mr Sydney Smith, who recently visited Coolgardie, informed a Melbourne Argus representative that Bailey's Reward mine Is one of the sights of the world,, and it is worked in a very curious fashion. A number of gentlemen 1 are working there as labourers, and the system' is to divide the different classes, and put one gentleman and one working man together. The stuff is so rich that it is impossible to get along without trusting somebody. In the tent in which he slept at night there were two beds — one a rude structure of planks, filled with ore calculated at the value of not less than £3500. As yet there has been no attempt at reefing, and even the process of working the alluvial is frightfully extravagant. It is all done by dry blowing, which consists in slowly pouring a dishful of stuff from about the height of the shoulder into another dish on the ground, thus allowing the wind, which is nearly always blowing a gale, to blow the lighter particles away.
