Dunedin Second was commenced at the Gale* donian ground on Saturday. The Dunedin captain having won the toss sent the Albion in to contend with the eccentricities of a secondrate turf wicket, on which the balls bumped and shot and hung in a very puzzling manner. Before the last Albion wicket was put down, however, the score stood at 74, of which Honeyman contributed 20 and Matthews 15, both batsmen playing the straight ones with care and dropping the loose ones over the chain. The first three or four Dunedin batsmen proceeded to hit out freely, till Hutchinson took charge of the leather, when, notwithstanding the greatest care on the part of the batsmen, he took six wickets for 8 runs, of which four wickets were taken with four consecutive balls. The Dunedin inniDgs closed for 50, Burt contributing 27. ,__
