London, December 13. The wool sales continue steady, competition being fair. The wool market is strong.

The wool sales have closed. Compared with prices ruling at previous series merino combings were firm ; other sorts par to £d lower ; crossbreds par to dearer.
Sydney, December 14.
A strong tone has pervaded the wool market during the week. Continental buyers have purchased largely. Prices, though not quotably higher, have tended in favour of producers. Greasy crossbreds are bringing 6^d to lOd; scoured, 10^d to Is sid.
Melbourne, December 14,

Messrs Dalgety and Company have received the following cablegram from their head office, da'ed London, December 14: — "Wool sales cl< sed firm without further change. Out of the net quantity available for sale some 62,000 bales have been sold for home consumption, 91,000 bales for the Continent, 500 bales for America, leaving 22.000 bales to be carried forward to next series."
The New Zealand Land Association have" received the following cablegram from their London office, dated December ll:—"5 :— " Wool • The sales closed this day at the level of laafc sales, except scoured merino superior, and greasy merino medium and inferior are par to ■Ad per lb lower, and scoured merino medium and inferior are par to per lb higher. The total quantity sold during the past sales is 151,000 bales, of which 92,000 bales have been taken for export, and it is estimated that 22,000 bales have been held over for future disposal."
Christchurch, December 15. The second of the present season's series of Christchurch wool sales was held to-day. There was a large entry and a good attendance of buyers, both local and foreign. Competition was spirited compared with last sales. Merinos were id. to Id dearer ; longwools, par to advance ; medium to fine crossbred, firm without quotable change ; broken wools a shade easier.
