Good shooting was impossible, as rain was frequent and a choppy wind blew up the range. At the first distence the visitors managed to beat their opponents by five points, but ib was expected that the latter would easily wipe off Ihese with their loDg rifles at the 500 yds range ; such, hewever, was not the case, as the battery representatives shot consistently, and secured a decisive win with a majority of 41- points in hand. The Bruce Rifles provided lunch on the range, and a very pleasant day was spent. Subjoined are the scores of the respecliva teams : — B BATTERY. 200 500 yds. yds. Tl.
