WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin, millers, grain, produce, and commission agents, Manse street, Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for week ending August 3, 1893 :—

Wheat : For good lines of Tuscan and velvet we have fair demand. Prime 'quality saleable at 2s 9d to 3s Id ; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Bd. Any lines coming forward can easily be placed off trucks. Fowls' wheat : Good whole grain, 2s 4d to 2s 6d— in good demand; medium, Is lid to 2s Id. Barley: Chevalier, 3s 9d to 4s 3d; Cape, 2s 9d to 3s, for malting qualities. Oats : We quote — Good milling and prime feed, 2s Id to 2s 2Jd; long Tartarian for seed ; bright, 2s 3d to 2s 6d. Ryecorn : We are shipping per Fifeßhire, leaving Port Chalmers August 18, with reduced rates, for the Continent of Europe. We have inquiry for some 100 sacks locally. Hops, 1b f.o.b. Nelßon. • Potatoes: Good Derwents, 100s ; Kidneys fit for seed, £5, and supplies are short. Pigs have inquiry, 4}d to 4}d for suitable sizes and quality. Chaff has demand: Prime, 603 to 655; good, 40a to 60s. Salt butter : Demand quiet, 7Jd, packages extra; prime quality only wanted. Cheese in better demand: Akaroa (large), 4Jd to 4}d ; factory, 4Jd to sd. Hams and bacon : Bacon (rolled), 6jd ; hams, 9d ; sides, 6Jd. Honey : Extracted, 561b tins, 4Jd ; other sorts from 3£d to 4Jd. Grass seeds : Ryegrass, 2s Gd to 3s ; machined from 3s 9d to 4s 6d; cocksfoot, 3Jd to 4Jd— in good demand. Linseed wanted ; wo can supply a few sacks at 15s. Onions, £10. Cocksfoot : We can supply light seed for surface sowing at 8s 6d per sack; medium seed, 12s 6d per sack — cash accompanying order. Kainit or German potash salt, £5 : nitrate of soda, £15 per ton ; Standard phosphate, £6 ss. No farmer should be without either. Rabbitskins : Winter does and bucks mixed greys, Is 4d ; best selected does, Is sd.
