Notes from Nenthorn.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) For the last three months tha miners of Nenthorn have been unable to crush, owing to hard frosts and severe falls of snow. Some 200 tons odd are waiting to be treated at MrH. Wickb's battery of 10 heads. Lately a party started crushing 100 tons, which was carted to the battery Bix [or eight weeks ago, plenty of water being available, and Jack Frost meantime taking French leave of this locality. . A number of men are working in the Croesus mine again, after having been closed down for three or four months, and the machinery all sold. The stone taken out is showing very good prospectSi I near the reef in the face has run out at the Surprise mine ; the last crushing at this mine, some eight tons odd, turned out about 15dwts. I believe they are reducing hands, and the few remaining are sinking below the tunnel level, where plenty of water is being met with. The measles are jußt giving us a flying visit. # The farmers are all busily engaged ploughing and getting ready for spring. Some of the farmers are so far ahead that two or three lambs are jo be seen frisking about in the fields.
