RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.

(From Ova Own CoBBESPONDENr.) Chbistchobch, July 27.

On Tuesday morning Gondolier and Tiritea were jumped over the big sod wall in the new schooling country. Gondolier would not jump at all, while Tiritea jumped very slovenly. Empire, too, fell twice at the same fence, and none of the North Islanders down here yet are as good as the local horses. To-day Gondolier, Tiritea, and Victrix were jumped, Tiritea coming down a cropper at the small post-and-rail fence. Gondolier jumped fairly well ; but Victrix was the best of that push. Mat Goodger brought Regalia and Liberator on to the course this morning and jumped the former. Regalia jumps uncommonly well, too, and Liberator may not be out of the Grand National Hurdle Race. Unit; is nob a bad horse, but he is small. To-day he galloped twice round at a fair pace. Abel Tasman was jumped with Balquither on Wednesday. He is a good outeider for the Grand National Hurdle Race.

July3o. Folly and Wildfire were sent twice round this morning, and Polly was jumped over both the hurdles and fences. Kapua was also jumped over the hurdles, but the best gallop of the morning was that between Clarence, St Barbe, and Jaffa, and perhaps the merits of Sb. Barbe and Jaffa rather than those of Clarence were exhibited. Norton and Eulnine, too, did -a good gallop twice round, and Erin-go-Bragh and Vogengang were spun out over a mile, while Cubfcs sent Retina, Melusina, and Awarua Rose twice round- steadily. Director (located at the Bush Inn) did useful work, as did also Victrix, Gondolier, Empire, Unity, and The Idler.

July 31. On Saturday night; we had a deluge of rain, and on Sunday morning the course was flooded, and absolutely no work was done. Today Sheenan sent Erin -go -Bragh, Vogengang, Wildfire, and Shelab. round the centre, pld Erin doing a good two miles at a very fair pace. That was all the work that was done.
