THE ALHAMBRA CLUB. TO THE EDITOR.

Sik,—My attention has been drawn to the aspersions that have been cast upon my club by the (article written by '• Forward" in your lasb week's.' Witness. In tho first place '•Forward" says : "It is Mnted that the Alhambra will decline to meet the Kaikorai on Saturday, week except at Tahuna Park." Here he ia quite ab sea, for as a matter of fact we have scarcely given the matter a thought. He then asserts that "the arrangement between the club?, however, is that the Kaikorai are to name the ground for this match, the Alhambra having fixed on the ground for the former match, which, owing'to bad weather, could not be played.", Now to show how far "Forward" is wrong, I will endeavour to enlighten him on the matter. It was the Kaikorai captain who refused in the first place to play on either the Caledonian or Carisbrook grounds unless they received a Bhare of the gate. And with Mr Macdonald, the secretary of the Kaikorai Club, I consented to play at Tahuna Park, but there was no mention made as to whose turn it was or anything else. As to the remarks re gate money your contributor is very forward and impudent, and evidently knows too much of the Alhimbra Committee's feelings anent the Caledonian ground. Those who wish in futuro to have my committee's ideas as to tho Caledonian ground will please apply to "Forward," Otago Witness.— lam, &c, - D.,Pateeson, Hon. Sec. Alhambra Football Club, street, Dunedin, July 25.
