NOTES BY MASTER M'GRATH.

Pine Hut, winner of the Waterloo Cup, is a better-bted dog than I thought he was. His maternal grand-dam was sister to the famous Master M'Grath. I will try to work out the pedigree for next week. Speaking of Pine Hut I may remark that in theJinal of the Waterloo the judge says this dogled Bess Morley by nearly a length. An Auckland telegram states that at the meeting of the Auckland Coursing Club there was a large attendance. The final round of the Avondale Cup resulted in Mr Beeham's Master Bob (by Rudolph, out of Retina, by Market Day— Musk) beating Mr Rowe's Pirate 11. In the final of the Consolation Stakes Mr Edwards's Carbineer beat [Mr J. Hill's Laddie 11.

The Canterbury Times mentions that Lindsay Gordon, winner of the valuable Dawson trophy at the Victoria Coursing Club's June meeting, is a third season dog (winner of last year's Derby) by the New Zealand-bred Eildahl, by Chester— Tot, who, in his season, under the name of Eillulta, won the Derby at^ the Templeton Plumpton. Stormy Night, dam of Stormy Petrel, winner of the Bracelet Stakes at Dunedin, was by a brother to Eillulta.
