THE NAVAL DISASTER.

(Peg Pbess Association.) ' London, July 5. The Camperdown has arrived at Malta with Ler fore deck only a foot above the water. Her watertight doors alone saved her from following the Victoria to the bottom. Private letters received ia England state that if the Edinburgh had not been smartly steered she would have rammed the Camperdown, and the Sanspariel wonld have run into the Edinburgh. July 6. Some of the officers of the squadron contend that Admiral Xryon intended the Camperdown to circle round the Victoria's stern, thus preserving the original order of the fleet after turning. A Maltese stoker saved H.M.S. Camper* down from foundering, after the collision with H.M.S. Victoria, by closing the watertight doors at the risk of his life. Nine feet of her stem was broken off, but the ram remained intact.
